Devil_bri
I need advice on what mounts I should use to put a 26mm scope on my AI AW 308 with a picatinny rail I wanted the AI one piece 26mm mount but cannot locate 1 ! I don't really want to buy the 30mm mount and put reducers in !!!! Any advice appreciated Thanks

TC
Unfortunately good quality 26mm mounts are like rocking horse droppings (at least they were when I was shopping ...) I ended up buying direct from TPS http://www.tacticalprecision.com/TSR%20Scope%20Rings.htm They may have fixed it but 26mm could not be purchased online and getting someone to answer the phone or respond to an email was painful. That said, good product. Not sure if Third Eye could be tempted to run 26mm as a special, I don't believe it is a standard size for them. Worth a try. fizzbangwhallop
If you struggle to find some rings you might have a look at the Brugger & Thomets - after a lot of searching I ended up with a pair of the BT21530 QD bases for my Zeiss 6-24x56 on my LRS2 with a Pic railed 300WM barrel - they were the only bases that were a perfect fit for the Pic rail slots, everything-else from ARMS, nightforce etc etc was sloppy - weaver vs Picatinny specs. Expensive but built like the proverbials - I think they were around £250 for the pair. I was using a pair of Burris Extremes in the meantime but don't know if these come in 26mm. They do a QR base and 26mm rings to fit: http://www.bt-ag.ch/en/manufacturing/mountingsystems/optical_sight_rings.php?pid=526 http://www.bt-ag.ch/en/manufacturing/mountingsystems/optical_sight_rings.php?pid=520 http://www.bt-ag.ch/en/manufacturing/mountingsystems/optical_sight_rings.php?pid=519 GMK are the UK agents - nb make sure you order 2 rings as they come in singles. They might send direct, I was exchanging emails with bruno.oesch@brugger-thomet.ch when working out the suitable bases - he'll send you tech drawings of the dimensions etc. As it happened, the 21530's needed a couple of thou taken off the Pic rail to clear the underside of the 'scope's turret housing, whereupon I discovered the standard barrel cut-outs for the Blase Saddlemount base - which is why there's no rifle attached to the following pics! Devil_bri
Thanks guys for the advice I tried third eye, they don't have 26mm but can do reducers for their 30mm rings. So looks like I will go that route
janner
Thanks guys for the advice I tried third eye, they don't have 26mm but can do reducers for their 30mm rings. So looks like I will go that route I normaly turn up and then split ring reducers when i encounter 26mm scopes in the work shop.. I make them either from T6 aluminiun or stainless. they work very well indeeed and it means that I can easily convert 30mm rings for 26mm use.Saves a lot of time whena client needs his rifle ricky tick.
