weejohn
Shot 2 more bucks yesterday, both were very frustratingly bedded down together. I shot the first through the neck , the second made a run for it but i tracked it down and after about 2 hours watching , waiting for it to stand up with my feet wet and starting to go numb, i just shot it in the head but in the process ruining its scull. It was my first 6 pointer and a very heavy big beast. I also found this

weejohn
At this rate it will need a new barrel next year Not really done much long range stuff although i was shooting at a rock 400m away the other night. That will be it for a wee while now martin, i have no room left in the freezer. I am still gutted i needed to shoot the bigger beast in the head i really wanted a nice mount from it. re'M'ington
I'd be a hypocrite if I said anything about head shooting John, but, you can always turn the shot up for another day mate. Here's one I shot a few yrs ago, through the head smashing most of the skull,so a very harsh sawing was in order................... Martin p.s. I turn up as many head shots as I take.
Scotch_egg
Not having any roe stalking of my own, but plenty of fallow. Expriance has led me to the following... A prominant saying has always rang true "they will always come again" Be it, had you left that animal or another presents itself the oppertunity for a mount will present itself. I have to be honest I'm not one for mounts.
