  1. Hi there what are your thoughts on brass for .22 Dasher build .should i go norma brass and neck down , or laupua brass and fireform. Intended bullet is 73g /75g  rifle is Single shot Bat vr . Is one brass better than the other or one handles pressures better.  22" tube for pointability

Or would i see better ballistics with a 6MM Dasher - 6MM BRA  8 twist

    55g nosler varminting load , and say 105-110g 500m load .

    Purely for  varminting

    Cheers in advance Lee

    Lee, what rifle/barrel was that?

Treedave, worst case if you have a similar barrel to mine with 24mm on the outside and a Hausken mod with ~24mm you could turn it out by 0.3-0.4mm.  I did mine on one of those mickey mouse table lathes. Just have to heat up the section where the threaded part is in and unscrew the front baffle section off. That then fits into a small lathe. I used to run a 300wm through that mod, now I will only use the CM and 308.

Hi it was my BAT ,creed Bartlien bolted in my Habu , i was going to hand load , but factory shoots well in my stick so went with hornady ELDX. Dont think a fox or Deer will no the difference

Lose the rail and Spuhr put a pair of tally bases on it and 34mm Talley rings that should bring it down enough to fit perfectly and lose the weight of the rail and heavy Spuhr ,,,,,,

Did this with a Borden build a few weeks ago saved nearly a pound without the lard

Sound advise, done the same on my HABU

I run a 22BR for foxing in an AI AX chassis. When looking at barrel length I confess I went purely for aesthetics as I wanted my mod to fit snuggly up to  the barrel shield.

Goes against conventional wisdom but ended up at 19.75"

Shoots way better than me with 50grn Bergers running at 3640fps........not had any complaints from Charlie out to 400yds....just bang flop !

Bonus is hardly any recoil in that chassis so get to see the whole show.  Can't recommend the cartridge highly enough.

Attached is a 5 shot group at 200yds.

    Regards, Rob.

Having supplied and fitted more Proof Research barrels than most in the UK, I can’t say my findings would be the same as yours.

I wish Josh all the best in his new venture, but there aren’t enough examples of his products in general use yet to give an accurate picture of their true performance.

Have you rebarelled in Hardy or christian arms tubes and what are your findings in perfomance and accuracy of the two againnst the proof research.

  6. Haven't been doing a lot of shooting the last 2 years really Andy.I was out before that every weekend without fail , lamping , Deer, and the occasional duck shoot. So with less work commitments trying to start to get back into it again.I have 1600 acres in wales i have permissions on so will be going up there starting tomorow again. Like the sound of PRL ,but not for me , just leisurely stroll out in the sticks , keeps you fit and active. My rosko now is a bit lighter ,ie no Aics chassis, MTU profile tube.heavyish scope. So lookin forward to it .👍
