  1. Thanks Dave I think you're right.

Rule 2.2.3 says the " the rifle shall not exceed £1500.00 GBP and the optic shall not exceed £1500.00 GBP.". I should have read it closer because the " shall not exceed" part rules out carrying over unused budget allowance.

    Thanks chaps.

  2. During the last few months I've been looking at different disciplines and PRL has caught my eye. I know there's a few who shoot it on here and may have some role in the admin side so thought I'd ask here instead of bothering Tiff.

I'm not 100% sure on the on the factory rifle class rules. The rules say £3000 limit for rifle and scope then it's broken down to £1500 each for both the rifle and scope. It's the breakdown I'm wondering about, is it possible to buy something for say £750 and use the extra £750 to go towards the other item. I.e. Buy a scope for £750 and a rifle for £2250 and come in on budget for the package?

    Sean.

  3. Our range has enough space to enable a 2m separation between shooters on the firing points and in the butts. It will mean having smaller details of shooters per time and swapping details more often but I'm sure we can cope with that if we can get out.

My 2p worth is that if we can maintain distancing and contact hygiene on things like radios then we might be able to get going. Just my wishful thinking though.

I know my golf club has a lot of areas where 2m distancing will be harder to maintain than the range does.

Wish id bought that action off you when it was in my care all those years ago mate !

Lovely piece of kit wasn't it?

If Landmark we’re approached perhaps suitable targets and equipment could be installed with the other “plinking” targetry at Charlie High (Warcop)

I went out with the range warden one morning when we shot at Charlie High to put a gong out. He would only take me to the track that crossed the range at 1k. He said we couldn't go any further because the area between that and the base of the hill had to be cleared before entering due to it being the main impact area and possibly had unexploded ordnance in it.

I'm not sure if that's still the case or if he just didn't want to go any further that morning. It must be cleared at times to allow for maintainence so that would be the time to enter.

  5. We have a member at our club with a .375 cheytac improved who shoots at Orion and joined eskdalemuir just before things kicked off up there. I'm sure he'd be interested in a U.K. event. There's also a chap I'm aware of who has the gear for that and is involved in the new works at eskdalemuir.

Almost makes me wish I'd not sold the Cheytac action I had or even 99% of the gear to go with my .338 now.

There is always the Send It Series

Same degree of competition, steel targetry and only £65 to enter

Worth considering when we’re free of this damn virus

I recall we (UK Varminting) had a team outing to WMS in wales to shoot steel plates

Probably ten years ago, if not longer,  the course of fire was devised by Brown Dog and WmS and a very good day we all had

Nothing dissimilar to precision rifle shooting that is today

    For £75 quid

    Food for thought

Sorry slightly off topic but out of pure coincidence I've had the course of fire from that in the front pocket of my range mat since then, during the enforced tidying up period we're in I've just cleared it out. I was flicking through just thinking how good that was and how I'd like to try something similar again one day.
