  1. Would it be possible to make the neck turning article a pinned topic? I doubt there are any better or clearer scribblings done on the subject. Many thanks German.
  2. This is written by German Salazar who's name may be familiar to those of you who use the 6mmBR.com site. The article has been copied and pasted with his permission, he is in fact a member of this forum. For my money this is the clearest and most comprehensive guide in how to neck turn and why. http://riflemansjournal.blogspot.com/2009/12/reloading-neck-turning.html'>http://riflemansjournal.blogspot.com/2009/12/reloading-neck-turning.html Periodically German updates the articles, so it's worth checking up on from time to time. If you get a chance read his article on Equipment and barrel break in, it's a great read. This is the link for the main site http://riflemansjournal.blogspot.com/
  3. Speak to Jager sporting arms, advertised on the right hand side or PM Kaliederscope on here. I'm not sure what his current prices are but they aren't as bad as you might think.
  4. Very fine wet and dry paper and plenty of elbow grease, working the wet and dry in small circles, and then buff it up. I used a car bodywork buffer from Halfords.
  5. Third one down is mine Mark, McMillan Sako 75 stock. The photograph really doesn't do it justice.
  6. If I remember correctly and I'm quite confident it's 33% of each If you find the photo of my olive/black/tan it's 50% olive 25%tan 25%black.
  7. Have a look here it might give you some ideas. http://www.imageseek.com/karsten/gallery/s...lbumName=custom
  8. Norman Clark I have had nothing but a first class service from them, along with Reloading Solutions and Sinclair International Roger at SYSS has been very helpful (apparently that Dave guy knows what he's talking about as well ) as does Brian at Fox Firearms. James from Jaeger Sporting Arms has always been exemplary to deal with. Those from abroad that have always answered my emails quick time and been helpful above and beyond the call are Surgeon Rifles, McMillanand Bartlein Barrels.
  9. Colours not known 70% medium green 30% light grey pretty stunning so I thought I would add it.
  10. Thanks Andy. 50%black 25%olive 25% medium tan Percentages and colours not known If anyone wants to know the colours and mixed percentages of a particular stock email the picture to McMillans and they will tell you.
  11. 50% olive 25% black 25% med tan 4 hours with 1200 wet&dry 5 minutes buffing and a liberal spray of back to black, not to mention a four month wait and a £400 bill, was it worth it, hell yes Mods any chance of making this a sticky?
  12. % not known, colours olive, tan and I think grey 80% olive 20% black
  13. 80% grey 10% black 10% Olive 60%black 20% Olive 20% light grey 80% black 20% olive 70% forest green 15% tan 15% light tan Unknown 40% grape 20% pink 20% white ;)
  14. He no rat, he Siberian hamster
  15. User name is IanB I think I have a massive post count of about six, but read the forum pretty much everyday. Word of warning to anyone choosing colours from the McMillan website, some of the colours on their colour chart are not what you get in real life, as I have just found out. I saw my A5 the other day and had it marbled in medium green and light gray, the light gray looks very close to off white on the McMillan website, but believe you me it's very very gray. My stock looks hideous and will be going to see Mr Clark for a bit of a make over, if I manage to get some photo's of it I will post them on here.
  16. 80% grey 20%white Guess... 80%Medium tan 20%olive/green Not a mcMillan but an interesting new stock to rival the AI ?
  17. Actually that is a very valid point, I had a A5 ordered to go on a custom rifle, when it arrived at the gunsmith I am using he sent it back to Jacksons saying it wasn't up to scratch (from what he told me, that was polite description) I never had any hassle of sending the stock back and obviously had no costs either, five months later the replacement arrives. So on this particular occasion I'm very glad I used a third party.
  18. It would be a boring old world if we all liked the same things Wirevis, a lot of people seem to like the GAP woodland pattern, personally I think it looks pants. Ian
  19. Here's another link full of marbled stocks, click on any image to get a closer look. http://www.bryantcustom.com/galleries/rifles.htm Ian
