Thank you for clearing that up, not sure if I can run to a march scope but hawke do one that might fit the bill for starters.

Has anyone got their hands on the new Kriss Vector. 22 yet and if so what are your thoughts. 

Ok I am new to this style of shooting so what is a LVPO and a Warne Skel 

Excuse my lack of knowledge 

Do you use a scope or reddot for mini rifle /practical shooting and what make.

A little off topic but then I did start the thread.

On a standard day on wind etc etc how much point of aim difference would .5 grns of N140 in .308 make at 100 yards

Now that is a good idea especially as my eyesight is getting a bit old these days.

Hmm old school or new gadget decisions decisions.

The trouble is you have mentioned an electronic Scales now which has thrown me off track and I will get carried away,  so although I still leaning towards a beam type is something like the Lyman gen 6 worth a look at.

Hello all

I am looking for a new powder scale as my old Lee scales are ok for .44 mag loading but I want something a bit more refined for reloading. 308.

I would prefer a balance beam type, so do you have any recommendations.

I have just finished my first lot of .308 home loads and have 1 quick question. 

Do you remove all the case lube from the brass when you have finished.

I did make sure the inside of the necks were cleaned before seating the bullet.

A good way to reduce recoil is to fit a moderator if you have a screw cut barrel although you need to get one on your ticket first

If you want to make it, one 5lt can of alcohol and two small (118ml?) bottles of 100% lanolin will give a near lifetime's supply at approx 1:21 ratio. Just need a small spray bottle to apply. Do try to get the liquid lanolin rather than the wax as it's easier to mix (especially if you keep the bottle in your pocket for a bit before trying to pour it out).

Ok that doesn't sound like to much hard work where do you get the alcohol from and do you need a special spray bottle to handle it

 That is ok with straight wall cases like my 44mag as I use lee carbide for those but I read that with bottle neck cases lube was still needed but I could be wrong

I was thinking of making the home lube up but my life is busy enough as it is at the moment so I think I will try one shot for a start, reloading my 44 mag is a lot simpler 

Has anyone used one shot case lube for full length resizing on 308 and is it any good 

I have had the GT sonic 3 litre for a couple of weeks and it seems to do the job but as I haven't had one before I have nothing to compare it to.

The only thing I will say is it's called 3 litre but it only takes 2 litres of fluid

I will probably go with a SWFA SS10x42. as I want a fixed power and it has good reviews in my price range

Just had my new rifle and mod delivered.

Sabatti tactical scout. 308 with a ASE jet z compact. 

Just need to order a scope now
