Let us know how you get on with the Sabatti, I"m considering one in 6.5CM. ( even if I prefer the aesthics of laminated stocks)
Looks promising so far but still working up a load for it but definitely a sub moa rifle.

I built an LBP from a heavy barrelled gun many years back. Custom grips, brake etc etc.
Shot it in the England squad for some time, and achieved a maximum score at advancing man at Bisley one Gallery meeting [can't remember if it was the phoenix or not ]
Very accurate, and very reliable. Wish i'd never sold it.
That's what I am thinking as it is an ok rifle for accuracy but not in bolt action territory but I have heard they make a accurate pistol which is what they are meant to be.
Decisions decisions
Also I need to find someone to do the modification.
Would you be interested?

I have the 1911 by gsg it was one of the first shipment and still going strong.
Not sure on which bolt gun but it must be accurate or it will just annoy me.

Just after your thoughts, I have a Browning buckmark rifle with target barrel and grey laminate stock which I want to change for something else in .22 (maybe an accurate bolt action not sure yet ) or have it converted to a LBP.
I am open to suggestions.

I use the same mix that Mattnall recommended and it works perfectly without gumming things up

Hi, I've bought a considerable amount of bullets from this forum for sale section.
Another bulk order from Fox Firearms. Sadly a member had passed and Brian had quite a stock of bullet to clear.
Other option post wanted in wanted section of the forum again this worked out well for me. Shooting 6br.
Thanks nick
Very good point thank you.
I have found a reasonable supplier for the bullets I wanted at a fairly good price.

I bought a batch off a guy based in the UK.. does several varieties and suppose to be really good but I haven't had the chance to test them but were very very well priced at £35 per 100..
I am stuffed if I can remember his name though but will be on box when I get home
Sounds interesting

I will take a look

Personally I'd go for a good used Anchutz model 1450 or 1460. Nicely made, more refined than the CZ's and accurate little rifles plus not that spendy either.
I haven't seen either of these so I will take a look.

The CZ452/455 are great rifles and good value.
A couple of years ago we bought some CBC MagTech bolt guns as beginner's rifles, and these are excellent value for money and as accurate as the CZ. I was amazed at how good they shot for the money.
I believe I know someone with the magtech rifle and he loves it

I will take a look at the Tikka and 457 MTR.
thank you for the suggestions

I have a Hornady balance beam, works great.
I bought a RCBS10-10 from a site member and it works a treat, I have also rigged up a clamp to hold my tablet so I can see it properly

Thank you for your input.
Spoke to a chap at the club with the 455 varmint 16", he said that it was great to start with and just got better the more it was used so looks like it is the way to go

Hello all
Hope you are all keeping safe, while I have some time on my hands I am doing a bit of research into getting a. 22 bolt action rifle for informal target shooting.
I was thinking along the lines of the CZ455 or 457 varmint.
I am open to suggestions it just needs to be a good accurate rifle that doesn't cost stupid money.

Still £975, expensive for a $500 rifle.
That's our rip off import tax plus vat plus importers have to put high mark ups but that's not their fault as the uk market is tiny compared to the US so it's the only way they can keep their business running.
-
Interesting, by all accounts they get good reviews being all metal without costing £1400

Very nice

Very nice set up, I have seen the Sparc and like the fact it has a 2moa dot and doesn't cost stupid money.
What rifle do you have

Fondled it at SHOT show in January, could be a quite a fun gun but 2 things bug me about it, the small mag and the plain ugliness of a long barrel Vector.
Kriss say 30 round mags are on the way, but they have previous for not delivering higher capacity mags for their Defiance models, currently only offered with a 15 round mag.
Barrels can be shortened, but that adds to the expense and this should really be a cheap fun plinker.
On the positive side it feels quite well made and is actually made by Kriss, unlike the Defiance.
Hello BamBam
I thought the same thing about the barrel and yes it should be an easy job to cut it down to 12 inches and add a good moderator it will look the part, but as you said it's more expense.
I have had a go of someone's defiance which I liked but didn't realise they didn't make it, who did?.
