Very popular with the ftr and open shooters

I heard the other day the all 22lr ammo lapua make is going to the military for small arms practicing..
Federal primers are all going to military contracts..
None to the civilian market..
Rws,sellier and belliot and magtec are going to be the only primers to come into the UK..
How much of this info is correct I don't know..
Laurie may know more on this 🤔

It all depends what powder and what make bullets you want.

How important is neck tension? And how important to it is annealing?
My budget rotary gas fired annealer really isn't especially precise and from time to time the cases stop turning and so aren't accurately annealed.
There seems to be lots of opinions on YouTube, but as my interest in extra long range increases so I realise that i really need to make my ammo as good as it can be.
As far as I can see the only annealer that is super accurate is the AMP, but this is eye wateringly expensive.
Thoughts?
Rob will anneal your brass on his AMP at 10 pence a case

The dolphin brakes are very efficient..
I have one on my 6.5x47 and I've used it on my 284 and it worked a treat...
I'd agree with pops...
Turn the mag down to 25

Hi Ralph..
A more efficient brake will help..
A terminator brake will be much better..
You passed your RSO ok I hear 😉.
Small world innit 😊

Thanks to all.
Sorry, I hadn’t meant to imply I’d be tempted to enter F class with the 6.5x47 with light 123gn bullets or the current setup I have at all. That would be a bit pointless.
i know I’d likely need to be shooting some flavour of 7mm with a 30-32” barrel, some sort of high magnification SFP scope. All the usual stuff.
I was merely wondering what level of accuracy and consistency one should have if wanting to start out in f class. I simply have no idea how my current shooting compares to what I should be aiming for / achieving if starting in f class. I guess the answer is the ability to hold about 1/4moa.
Thanks again - especially the suggestion of a class. I’d definitely be interested in an f class training day. I’m unsure what ‘the phoenix’ is (is that a postal shoot? Or a club?) but I’d be tempted to learn more about that too.
Cheers
Go on have a go..
It's great fun and great competition

Shooting off a bipod and a bean bag would be fine..
FTR shooters use a bipod
-
A 7mm would be more competitive in the wind than a 6.5x47

Lord Roberts is good food.
Last time at the British F class championships early November I ate in London Middlesex..
They do a good burger and fries.

How can you be so certain the hogs will work this out.
It must be getting near their hibernation time..

I was putting out dog food for our resident hogs for a while..
Not last week the week before I tried catching the hog eating the food and I was missing it..
A mate came around and wanted to see the hog in the garden so I put it some food out and we went out for a look and our neighbours f----- cat was there and ran off down the fence and the food was gone..
I bet that bloody cat had been eating it grrrrrr
Not put any dog food out coz I'm not feeding that good for nothing creature..
I've put other food out there it might eat 🤞
Not seen it out in the garden since then 😔

Thought about it too long then 🎃

I have the above barrel for sell..
It's a heavy sporter profile..
27 or 28 inches..
I can find out barrel sizes later
Its muzzle is threaded..
i cant remember at the mo what the thread is..
round count 300 odd..
I have a record somewhere..
i took it off the borden timberline action 6 or 7 years ago and not used since..
theres 67 pieces of fully prepped and annealed remington brass that has done 4 or 5 firings.
£300 plus RFD for the barrel.
£50 plus postage for 67 pieces of fully prepped brass

Bump.
I tried some in my new barrel, but I didnt get any pleasing results yet,but in my my last barrel they shot strait away..
