  1. W R Shiesssport in Germany or Hunting-Sport SARL in Luxembourg would be a good place to start, both are on eGun.de but will give slightly better prices dealing with them directly.

Edinburgh Rifles do trips up and down the country and will meet up/drop off stuff to save postage.

Each to their own on reloading as you say, just wanted to show the options, local RFD is selling Hornady for £190/100, that's around 4x the reloaded cost!.

    Exactly

not everyone reloads, has an interest in reloading or has access to cheap or grey imported components

Here we go again, so exactly what grey imported components would they be then?

    Cases, £96/100 Edinburgh Rifles

    Primers £23/1000 HPS-TR

Powder, local supplier (Bowtec) £230 for 3.5Kg

Bullett €290/1000 delivered from any number of suppliers in Europe

  3. Picked mine up on the 15th, stuck my Sightron SIII 10-50x60 on it and bore sighted it at my club, ran a few subsonics down to check and they were within 1/2" of where my Ruger RPR puts them.

Range last Sunday morning, few clicks left and up and spot on, everything going into 1" squares after I got used to the trigger (previously shooting my T3x CTR so almost chalk and cheese!).

So far extremely happy, much better fit & finish (no pun intended) than the Ruger, just a shame they stiffed everyone outside the US by supplying only 1 mag instead of the 3, not to worry I'll pick some up next trip over.

  4. If you have the 750F green labelled bottle then no, it's fine, just use it on the neck above the shoulder area. Best place is a dab on the inside of the case neck so it's not directly exposed to the flame.

You'll have to run a wire cleaning brush (using a drill is the easiest) inside the neck afterwards as it's a bit of a monkey to get off when it's baked on :)

  5. You can't tell a case is correctly annealed by the colour of the brass, yes it's an indication but it varies too much between makes, batches and even the cleanliness of the case being annealed.

Tempilaq is a much more accurate indicator, I also use the 650F (Yellow) in much the same place, starting about 1/8" below the shoulder, this (from the testing I have done) changes colour when the neck reaches 700f-750f

  6. Yes, 308, 8mm, 30-06, 260, 6.5 etc. have all worked fine with the 308 disk, I ran some 300aac through without a problem and they use the same case as 223 but you may be better off getting a second disk with the smaller holes so the cases centre better on the turning motor :)

  7. On Lubo's machine, I have the torch set on the left side and the case rotates towards it, however, for all the above reasons this is not an issue. BUT, make sure you use a torch with a fine flame and not a general prupose swirl one, it needs to have a defined fine blue point. The one I recommended earlier in is perfect for the task.

Any chance you could post a photo of your torch set up please?

  8. I'll assume the one with the tray was mine :D

Arrived last week (delivered to the wrong house so thanks DPD!!)

Set it up with a couple of minor problems, the disks wouldn't index at the correct position above the case rotation point. Simple enough to sort, removed the disks (and cut my finger on a sharp edge) and loosened off the collar it sits on, moved it a bit further around the motor shaft and all sorted.

As I said, minor point and given the whole thing was only £170 including shipping from Bulgaria it's excellent value icon_e_smile.gif

    Onto the good bit icon_e_biggrin.gif

To be honest there's nothing to report!! it does exactly what it's supposed to do, set the time to 8 seconds (after using Tempilaq to test) and away we went. 300 cases later job done perfectly icon_thumbup.gificon_thumbup.gif

    I've uploaded a small video here, https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/103575967/FBUK/High%20Res.mp4

I need a better gas torch and have ordered one of the Clarke torches. Even using the "El Cheapo" one I was able to adjust my torch right down and anneal all of my 300aac cases, nice job :D
