  1. Thanks for the reply, very informative!
  2. Well I think we’re there! Tested the third iteration of the 3D model today and apart from one small change that has already made the fit is perfect. Pics:
  3. I’ve finally got some N32C and have just loaded 20rds of varying weights. Will start at 12gr, then down to 11gr and 10gr. After that I’ve got incremental rounds to test velocity in the hope of finding somewhere close to what seems to be the magic 1050fps. I’ve gone for 168gr HPBT bullets as by all accounts they’ll stand the best chance of stabilising in my 1:12, 25” barrel! Anyone else gone for a similar load with N32C?
  4. So with thanks to a few members over on the Stalking Directory, the V2 prototype fits like a charm! Some small changes have been made to the model that will be incorporated in the final 3D printed model before we take the plunge with CNC machining. As ever, pics are better than me droning on! We’re getting there!
  5. Unfortunately not! Hopefully it’ll be here tomorrow or Friday but, understandably, Royal Mail have been fairly busy as of late!
  6. I’ve ordered a second 3D printed model, should be here next Weds. With the tweaks that have been made from the first (nothing major, just the odd angle change and making it fit slightly more snugly (for aesthetics if nothing else!)), all being well we can then move on to placing the CNC order. From reading up on it, I think 7075-T6 aluminium will be the way to go. If anyone else thinks otherwise please let me know!
  7. By way of an update, the 3D model will hopefully have some tweaks made this weekend. After that, we’ll get another version printed. Once that’s tested we should be in a position to proceed with the initial batch.
  8. Got it this afternoon - Royal Mail kept me on tenterhooks all day! It fits very well for a first attempt. Will require some adjustments but it shouldn’t be too difficult. The magazines feed fine! The next prototype will be 3D laser sintered to give a smoother finish. We’re definitely making good progress!
  9. Had an email saying it has been dispatched - watch this space!
  10. So the company (Make It Quick for anyone interested) emailed yesterday saying they were starting production. I don’t want to jinx it but hopefully it wouldn’t have taken too long so might be in the post already! If not, hopefully it’ll be out today and I might get it by the weekend.
  11. The first 3D model has been ordered - I will update when it arrives!
  12. Hopefully the model will be finished this weekend and then it’s off to the 3D printers to be made in plastic. I’ve got original 5 and 10rd magazines to test the function of the initial plastic housing. Pics:
  13. Did you get my PM about the Mitutoyos? I sent it on Sunday
  14. I must admit, I wouldn’t have thought to do it that way! It might be worth mentioning in the video that the bullet needs to be seated to your chosen depth/SAAMI spec in order to measure it. Some people will figure that out, others might not!
  15. For anyone who's interested, a 3D model is currently being worked on. Once that's been finalised, it will get 3D printed to test fit and function. Once that's successful we'll go forward with production. Will update when we have more information.
  16. I copied it from the thread in handloading! I’m sure someone more intelligent than me could explain why but I’m happy to sit here in my ignorance and be pleased it works!
  17. This link works for me - http://www.bbt.scot/ballistics/pressure.htm BlueBoy - which way was the data you got off - too high or too low for velocity and pressure?
  18. This is the photo of Blueroll’s magazine housing that fell apart:
  19. Gotcha! Will keep everyone updated as and when.
  20. Yep, have emailed and left a voicemail as well but no joy as of yet. Will update when I hear back!
  21. After a quick Google, do either MM Sporting or Lumley Arms ring bells?
