There is case going on in Ireland at the moment where a guy bought a mdt chassis and had it seized by irish customs.  He is also a member of the Irish police force.

He is taking revenue to court over this issue.

You would be safer sending it to his local dealer. 

I see bergara  have  22-250 rifles with a 1/9 twist so it might be worth checking them out. 

My barrel is 27 inches measured from the bolt face. 

As far as I remember it was throated for 130 grain bullets. 

I think it was a .293 reamer. 

Cartridge overall length to lands is 2.720 and 2.180 to ogive.

I'm using 123 scenars with n140 in my 6.5x47.

When i went above 37 grains I got a stiff bolt lift so backed off a bit.

I settled on 36.6 grains and I'm getting 2870 fps. 

I'm happy enough but i do wonder why i get pressure signs at 37 grains when others are going over 38 grains.  Bullets are seated 10 thou off the lands 

Its still working out at £79 a 100.

I'd rather pay the extra and get lapua. 

For F class  sfp is the obvious choice.

I tried one box of the new ones . Groups were 1.5 to 2 inches at 50 yards

I did contact eley about them and they said the only thing they changed was the packaging. 

There was a bit of wind so it could of been,  i did sit up after each group to reload the mag so I did change position each time. 

The new eley subs shoot terrible in my rifle. 

My sako quad varmint synthetic with the old green box eley subs at 50 yards . 

5 shot groups. 

Scope is a clearidge xp5 4.5-22x50 

The other target is a 10 shot group I shot with my mates anschutz 1710 varmint with lapua centre x  at 50 yards. 

I don't have any 100 yard groups but I will try and shoot some when I get a chance. 

When I bought my first mod I wanted the quietest available and didn't care much about weight or size.

I know better now and if I'm buying a mod for a hunting rifle,  weight,  diameter and added length to the rifle would be the things most important to me.

Some mods look like a can of beans at the end of the barrel.

For range use I would want something in stainless or all steel that is built to last. 

On my 308 my point of impact is usually about 2 inches lower with the mod on.

I did work up a load with berger 155.5 bullets that had the same point of impact with the mod on and off.

I still can't figure that one out. 

My mate ordered  some bipod mounts from them a few months ago.

It took a while but he did receive them about a month ago so they are still sending out orders. 

I bought stuff from them before and it usually arrived very quickly but on a few occasions it took a while as the item was out of stock.

You have a great set up now. 

I had a rifle that would would always place the first shot 1 inch low on the target. 

All other shots would be fine. 

If I let the rifle sit for 10 minutes and shot it again it would place the first shot low again. 

I have since had it rebarreled and it's fine now.

Could you please tell me the model number and reticle type on the sightron SV ? 

The models with ED glass on the sightron website have 1/8 moa clicks and yours has the 1/4 moa clicks of the standard SV model which doesn't have ED glass.

Yeah he will sell it.

£50 plus postage. Not sure about postage charges as he is in ireland but dont think it would be that much. 

the ctr has a slot cut in the bottom of the action for the magazine.

I have read that all the tikka t3x rifles have this slot now and if so they will work with the ctr floorplate and mag but you would need to check this first. 

Maybe someone on here could confirm this.

I have a mate with a spare ctr floor plate that he would probably sell as he put his rifle into a krg bravo chassis if you decide to go that route. 

If you buy any other tikka you will need the ctr bottom metal for your bifrost stock. 

The tac a1 also has the 2 stage trigger which may cause fitting problems as well.

I read on another forum where someone had to alter his krg chassis to make this trigger fit. 

I'm not keen on the chrome moly barrels and If I were you I'd wait on my stainless ctr. 

That's terrible. I hope they sort it out for you.

My mate bought a new tikka tactical 223 a couple of years ago and its pitted in places as well. 

The chrome moly barrels on sako and tikka rifles seem to be prone to this.

He also has a trg with the chrome moly barrel that is pitted as well.

I have an older trg that came with the stainless barrel and it's still perfect. 

Also the trg barrels are not chrome lined. It's only an internet rumour.  

I was always curious  about this as well.

Mine comes off as I always clean all my rifles before putting them back in the safe anyway. 

22 mods do get very dirty and if you store your rifle muzzle up some of this stuff may go down the barrel.
