  3. Hi A, thanks for that, never thought to look at the photograph, it was obvious when I had it in my hands it was some sort of protective coating but in the photo it doesn't look good.. As has already been said, rifle is producing good results, had it in my hands yesterday... regards N
  4. Clymer 6.5-06 A Square finish reamer used twice.Comes with -06 go gauge. £45.00
  5. Just a quick update, Had a quick flurry of e-mails from Kaps customer service, was like trying to stuff string up a cats a**e. Never Have I met anyone in customer service who had absolutely no clue about their products, very frustrating.. Contacted the retailer of the Scope with this sorry tale, only to be told that that was the norm, they have now stopped sellling any product associated with Kaps. The manager told they had sent over 80% of the scopes back with similar faults and were met with the same responses. He also told me on one particular model 41 out of 45 scopes had to be sent back, and we are not talking about £50 scopes.. regards N
  6. Ruger No1 action only for sale. Cerakoted tungsten grey. Dipped stock Kryptek pattern This was my long range beauty in 6.5-06 ackley, sadly after nearly 2000 rounds it needs a new barrel.I do however have the original Ruger 243 barrell which fits straight on. I also have a Magnum extractor for it.. £350.. Sold Subject to payment...
  7. MG, do the extractor plungers fully depress? The images look as if the plungers are binding on the head.
  8. It is obvious that rifle scopes are not the mainstay of their business..
  9. Hi A, wouldn't mind but I have another one that is the 56mm obj and its great, but this is just junk. I think that Heath Robinson was the design engineer on this one . Left it on the wall outside hoping someone would pinch it but ended up with a collection box and some sympathy cards..
  10. Can't sell it now, shot myself in the foot there, but not with that scope..😈
  11. Below is part of an e-mail after trying to point out the markings on the windage turret.. Good afternoon Neil, the engraving has nothing to do with the clicks. The clicks are only for the first calibrating. It is made for Snipers, that they can see maybe they have to choose the marked 12 on 200m distance, if the have 1m wind/second, coming froum south, west, or whatever. So if you want us to do a special engraving, where is a „10“ marked after 10 clicks, please advise. Best Regards, Mit freundlichen Grüssen Matthias Schäfer
  12. Thank god for that I thought I was going nuts trying to work out the graduations, just couldn't believe what i was looking at. To make it even worse there are 21 clicks between 0-12, c'mon Popsbengo get the calculator out..
  13. count the graduations between 0-12, and tell me what they are..
  14. In January this year I bought a new Karl Kaps scope (https://www.optics-trade.eu/uk/kaps-tactical-2-5-10x50-sniper.html), I would just like to say I did not buy it from Optics Trade just using it as reference, not a cheap scope by any means, but certainly not the most expensive. In April the scope developed a fault, the windage turret clicks had failed, consequently when you retrieved the scope out of the bag the turret would rotate if it caught the side of the bag or even rubbed against it when you where carrying it, so obviously needing urgent attention. So I contacted Kaps Customer service, who did not return any e-mails until I announced that their Customer service sucks! They suggested that I return the scope to them Direct. As we tried to ascertain what had gone wrong with the scope I pointed out a few other problems, the turrets were marked 6mm clicks@ 100m, they were in fact 1cm clicks@ 100m, they accepted that the turrets had been marked up wrong, the other problem is in the windage turret, I will post a picture and see if you can see what the problem is! Scope returned last week and guess what nothing had been done to it in 5 months. I have tried to contact them again and they have told me there is nothing wrong with the scope and now refuse to discuss it any further. As you can see the scope still has the 6mm clicks and the windage turret still turns freely. So if you are thinking of buying a Karl kaps scope think again.. sussed out the windage turret yet..
  15. hi Terry, it is absolutely mustard, really pleased with the performance, the 123sst is deadly @ 3350 fps out of a 25" barrel. N
  16. Made it from either 25-06 or necked down and trim 270 brass, but have just acquired 100 new brass cases from the US headstamped 6.5-06 from quality brass, flash holes are bit rough, just necked turn them this morning and they are quite concentric. The mainstay of brass for me was RWS/Norma 270 brass, good quality and reasonably concentric on the neck..I did however resort to neck turning and it improved the grouping and consistency greatly, also the ES, came down from an avg of 25fps to 7fps. Regards N Left to Right 264wm, 270, 6.5-06, 6.5-06 ackley

  18. Garbage in garbage out as the saying goes! However I fail to see when you measure from the ogive when setting the oal and not the base, how much does a 12 thou variance make, I could understand if shooting f class, but then if shooting targets that would not be the choice. 12 thou vs the oal of the bullet is probably about 1% , I would be more concerned if the weight was as erratic,in a v.max I doubt that makes any difference whatsoever. What ranges are shooting over? As has been mentioned how do they shoot,I have always found v.max to be as accurate as I need them to be and probably more accurate than I will ever be.. If I am looking for bugholes then that would not be my choice of bullet...
  19. This any good to you? just screws into the existing stud hole, still gives a sling mount and then a single picatinny mount. If its any good I can post it to you FOC. N
  20. Been a great fan of the 264wm for long time, but decided to trade down to a 6.5-06AI because of the abundance of brass. The reality was it was not a trade down but a trade off in the consumption of powder, velocity is right up there with the winnie and accuracy is stunning. I can launch a 123gn sst @ 3350fps and it is sub 1/2 moa @ 500yds. enough for anything I may encounter. Unfortunately have to convert to copper, will have to see what limitations that brings, got some 120 gmx's will be trying them out this weekend.. Looking forward to an outing with a good friend of mine who has just had a rifle built by Ronin in 6.5-06,my custom 6.5-06 head stamped brass arrived this morning so will handing a few over to him for testing.. I do not think it will be long before this caliber becomes standardized.. regards N
