terryh Posted March 21, 2017 Report Share Posted March 21, 2017 MM, Normally to stop heat haze but sound (as in twigs rapping on the mod. while stalking) is a secondary bonus. If your mod cannot take heat then you probably have a problem elsewhere? (caveat - CF skinned mods excepted). After a string of shots simply pull back the cover to allow general cooling. I like the TAB items, selection of designs, not Chinese (in make or materials) will take the heat for pretty much everything with the exception of multiple mags of .223 semi auto (as this seems pretty destructive in nature). Just cut to length, and pop in a few stiches to stop the seam opening all the way. Whether this would work for you depends on the diameter of your mods, I guess. FGYT Posted March 22, 2017 Report Share Posted March 22, 2017 no good if you shoot till its hot but i use Jack Pyke Shotgun Barrel cover its Neoprene and the double barrel one fits up to 2" you do need to cut a bit to length and Sew the cut end join to stop it coming apart as i say not heat proof but fine for stalking style shooting the single barrel cover is good for rifle barrels to ::Edit:: oops see was beaten to it above should read the whole thread Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
