Dalua
Just compare one to a .22CF and you will see why they aren't used in Benchrest The comparison will certainly show why .22CF's are not allowed in .22LR benchrest competitions. gbal
Indeed,Dalua...a better way to put the point. 22 (rf) Bench Rest isn't too shabby at 50y; there is a British one too. That said, some of these 'groups' -though not shot as such-would be train crashes for a competitive BR 6PPC at 100y, There are some OK you tubes-almost random- "Bench rest 22lr 50 yards." Is quite tidy "Effects of Action ScrewTorque on 22lr accuracy at 50 and 100 " shows something for fiddlers, and (reassuringly?) restores some space between 100y shots. "22 Benchrest Hunter Anschutz match 54" seems more like many less specialised rifles (as per Hunter class rules). gbal
maximus otter
Another try at this. Until recently I swore by Eley HP Subs through my Sako Finnfire. They consistently grouped ½ MOA off the bench. Then, from one brick to the next, groups went from thumbnail size to Improved Cylinder for no discernible reason. To cut a long story short, I have now switched to SK Subs: My setup remains the same as my previous post: Unmodified Sako Finnfire, SAK mod, Leupold Vari-X III 4.5 X 14 'scope set at 14X off a concrete bench using a bipod and back bag, range 50 meters. Here are the results (in inches and MOA, centre to centre): The fliers are doubtless due to my lack of skill/range distractions. (Thanks for firing that box of 12 bore slugs at the next firing point while I'm trying to concentrate...) I shan't be going back to Eley anytime soon. maximus otter
