Rem 700 3-position safety

Anyone here fitted any of these? (or a competitor product)

 

Just thinking that -if they fit surgeons that'd be an awesome upgrade (unless, of course, surgeon's can already be had with a 3 position safety?).

Recently fitted one similar to a Remington Titanium. Complete ###### to get to work when remington have not timed the bolt handle exactly. The cam inside that pulls the f/pin back rotates the wrong way so its a lot of effort to put the safety on and then when you do the bolt rattles like a tin of nails because you have removed the tension of the f/pin spring. Its not reversable if you dont get on with it without a new f/pin and you would be left with a hole in the rear of the bolt handle. I would'nt do another one...

Blimey -that's pretty damning! What make was the 'avoid' one you handled?

seen one fitted and it was pants.

 

If you want a three position safety, buy a Winchester a Ruger 77 or stick the AW

What they said , donot bother , the design does not lend it self to this , IF it did , you would see a lot of Rem700s fitted with 3 posn safety's .
