rooster
Had a reloading lesson yesterday and think i have picked it up ok, loading for my 308 Howa i have the above components along with CCI BR primers but i can find no relative load data. Anyone point me to a safe starting load including maximum case length and oal? cheers
varmartin
44 grains of R15 should get you to 2750fps approx, 46grains R15 should yield 2900fps but may well be a hot load. Max case length is 2.015 start at a COL of 2.800 then increase if you so wish up to 2.850 and check for improvements ..though i doubt you will see much difference. As with all Load Data, what works well in my rifle at max may be over the top in yours so be mindful of pressure signs... hope this info helps.. MarinePMI
Start low and work up. I have a sneaking suspicion that PP .308 brass is military 7.62 brass, and therefore a slightly lower case capacity. Haven't measured case capacity yet, but the annealing and primer pockets leave me thinking it's MG brass, so load accordingly...
