kernel gadaffi
Due to a "shortage" of available powder here I'm struggling to find a really accurate recipe for the above, I only have N140 available to me at the moment and after several phone calls, there's nothing else that I can use within 25 miles of where I live, there's no N130, N133, H335 etc anywhere around, so can anyone suggest anything or tell me where I can obtain some powder from? I live 16 miles west of Durham. Thanks
Streeker59
I use 26 grns of Varget for the same bullet in RG cases. N140 is a tad slower than Varget. http://www.reloadbench.com/burn.html I would try 24 grns of 140 and work up till you have the load you want. Vits own data gives 25 grns for 2936 fps as a start load. Max is 26.8 for 3166 fps. http://www.lapua.com/fileadmin/user_upload...23Remington.jpg Grant.. Barrelsniffer
I dont use sierra bullets but i do use 60 grn vmax with 24grn of vit 135..very accurate. Mick
sir-slots-alot
I have used Vit 140 with 68 grn Hornady match , 75 Grn Amax and 69 grn Seirra match, ( and still do ) it is a very good choice for the heavier pills in the 223. I see know reason you wouldn't get good results with 60 grain bullets. Cant offer you a load from experience , but I would suggest the best accuracy is to be found toward the top end of the load data ATB Alan PS - accidently deleted all my PM's - so didn't get chance to PM you back.... no bull
I used to run 60gn Berger match bullets with 24.5gn Benchmark running @ 3070 fps this recipe was super accurate and devastating on Mr fox Rifle was a T3 with 1-9 twist ATB Nick.
sir-slots-alot
Kernel Gad. Your rifle was once owned by Mr No bull. So it would be an idea to try his load. ATB Alan
kernel gadaffi
Thanks Alan, I will get around to trying some Benchmark once I've gone through all the N140 I've got, I managed to post a 5 shot group at 100 yards of 16mm, so I'm happy with that at the moment. Cheers Alan
