Foxshooter
As above really, has anyone tried/done this. A mate ruined an entire 100 Lapua cases (300Winmag) in a single firing and has loosened the primer pockets. He is obviously gutted to say the least. I have been told that staking will tighten up the pockets so the cases arent scrap. I've never heard of the process let alone know anyone who has tried it Is there a proprietry tool for the job or is it just hammer and centre punch time. If so how many punches, what orientation and how hard!!! Mark

Streeker59
Geez... I wish i'd known about this tool when i had a .260 Rem.... I could only get RP cases at the time and the primers pockets would open up after only 2 - 3 firings. The brass i threw away was wallet breaking..... It was the main reason for me parting with the rifle...
Andrew
It has been my experience that primer pockets that loosening up quickly comes from too-hot loads. Backing the load off would probably be cheaper than the tool.~Andrew

The load is fairly well up there moving a 210gr Berger VLD at approx 2850fps Mark
