Guest Scotland Rifles
Whereabouts did it snap? Can you post a Pic? I have repaired many broken followers.~Andrew Hi Andrew. I missed your reply sir. sorry it has snapped right on the folded section where it doubles back on itself and forms the sponginess that makes it work (it does seem to be very brittle) will post a picture later. bob. here you go. 1 http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/996/p1010001n.jpg, the top section is not seated right as i have just done this for the pictures. 2, http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/5720/p1010002h.jpg 3, http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/4166/p1010003f.jpg 4, http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/5309/p1010005l.jpg

I have made 10 round magazines for Mausers by adding spring by this method. Be careful in your workmanship and it will at least hold you until you can come up with a replacement. I must admit, that spring does look as though it's been torqued around a bit.~Andrew I'm gone for a few days; having my left hip joint replaced. If you have any quetions you can PM or email me and I'll ge back to you then.

PeteL
Scottie, Have you tried: "http://www.e-gunparts.com/dept.asp" They seem to do most bits. American of course, but I should think springs would not be parts which they aren't allowed to export. Difficult to say without seeing the part, but could a CZ 527 magazine spring fit?. Might be about the right size, if someone nearby has a 527 you could try. BTW, I've tried making springs and it's easy enough as long as you have access to a furnace that will go up to about 850C for annealing. Otherwise it's very hit and miss - mostly miss. Hope that helps Peter

I have tried chambers and the guys there are on the ball but no luck so far. i have sent Remington an e-mail so i will have to make one to fit. or make another one fit. bob. casts_by_fly
yea, the Rem 799 should work. It is a mini mauser action of the same design. Numrich gun parts is probably the most likely place you'll find anything. Thanks Rick
