Shaunos
Any ideas... My rifle is all of a sudden shooting all over the place off sticks. But off a rest its spot on. Its a Sako 85 Varmint Laminated Stainless. I've had no problems with it for 9 months but all of a sudden it seems to be going 8 - 10 inches left. Could the barrel be touching the stock? griffshrek
try running a peice of paper under the barrel to see if is free floating when on sticks ...neil
brown dog
Don't get new anything...yet. Hoofbeats/zebras This just sounds like inconsistent position and hold. Concentrate on shoulder pressure, cheek pressure, head position, firmness of grip, smooth trigger operation etc -once you're sure it's the same everytime I suspect that the problem will magically disappear
auquhollie
I agree with BD. If its shooting just fine of a Bi-pod then ide put it down to the operator. Just try to paractice some more with sticks. P.S if the rifle shoots fine with a Bi-pod on then ide say the stock is not touching the barrel. It is more likelly to touch with a Bi-pod fitted. Shaunos
I haven't tried it off a bipod it was off a MTM rifle rest so it was supported front and rear.
Chris-NZ
try running a peice of paper under the barrel to see if is free floating when on sticks ...neil In general terms, I'd suggest in fact running 3 or 4 layers of paper down the barrel channel. Barrels can flex a surprising amount on firing. Chris-NZ
