just loaded some 95g hornady sst in 243, this it is the first load i have loaded for 243.

followed the manual and trimmed cases to 2045 and seated bullet to give 2710 col.

the canulure on the bullet is about 5mm away from the brass, why is this ?

cheers

according to the hornady load book your col should be 2.630

Dont worry about the canelure being out of the case - its only purpose on these bullets it to hold them together on impact.

Personally, I would seat the bullet to your rifles throat rather to "manual" spec.
