zigliss
Hell yes! I took that photo whne I was at Barton Road MOD range last Sat. Well in the interests of pushing the envelope I decided to give her a bash at 1200 yards last Saturday...to say I am pleased with the result is an understatement. I chronoed my loads at 2670 fps give or take 10fps. It is a 139gr Lapua Scenar (bc of 0.615) and 43gr of N160, CCI LR Benchrest primers and Nosler custom cases. The target was 27x27 inches. At 1200 yards - 10 rounds fired; 9 on target; 6 in the black....and I think she would have done better than that if there hadn't been a crosswind gusting at between 10-15knots! I am going to have to spend some serious time learning to shoot this rifle as she is capable of way more than me at the moment! It was interesting to see the different windage required also. I had some colleagues shooting 155gr and 167gr 30cals in thier 308s and the wind was playing havoc with thier shots. I decided on the 6.5mm bullet because of its great ballistic performance and it was interesting to see how much better that slimmer, longer bullet bucked the wind! Looking forward to getting back out again!
