out for a test.....

Recommended Posts

Well with a little break in the weather i decided to test a few loads which showed promise on the last trip out.....

i got the distance to the lands sorted, as i just loaded the last tests to factory spec....

i headed out and tried the 58's which seemed a little poor in the win. brass that i had previous.....

i had to full length size it and knock the shoulder back to get it to chamber in the newly built tikka..... shot 1/2 " but i was expecting better.... the wind was gusting and i put it down to that and poor brass.....

i then decided to try the 87g v-max which had showed promise in two different loads...?

i backed these of 20 thou from the lands as a test, and they shot slightly under 1/2 inch...

letting the barrel cool for about 15 mins after each 5 shot test...

i fired my last loads of 87 g v-max....

upon firing the first i knew i pulled the shot slightly, thinking there goes this test........

then i fired the other four.......

it ended up like this.....

outside to outside.......
