Oly
Following on from my previous posts: http://ukvarminting.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=6075 http://ukvarminting.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=6103 Can anyone recommend me any good gundog training books that you have used in the past please. As per my previous posts - I'm primarily after pointing/marking abilities, but some retrieving & flushing skills would be good. Cheers, Oly
foxwhistler
"Gundog`s, There Learning Chain" by Joe Irving is a good book to read before starting training.

Alycidon
The best way forward is to going a gundog club and go to their classes, they will do a range for pups, novice dogs etc. You learn a lot just by watching more experianced handlers work their dogs and it is a pretty friendy bunch. I bought the videos by John Halstead, they are Ok but only Ok and not exceptional. A
