nell
What are the most suitable weather conditions to get the best results when cronoing ammo??? Im sure i read that the bullet casts a shadow passing over the censors, so would a unny day be best?? NELL
ds1
I try to chronograph over a range of temperatures and weather conditions - Chrono`s dont like rain and very bright sun. Dull is a good weather condition, I can use my chrony without setting up the diffuser screens. David.
eldon
As ds said a dull day is good. A sunny day that is especially bright is not a good option normally.
Guest varmartin
consistency is key.....so if you can ..in the shade or on a dull overcast day.. Some have screens...from what i have seen, they don't help much.
casts_by_fly
right now if you're near Hull. Or for that matter most every day if you're near Hull. Overcast, but not dark. Don't bother when the sun is out bright but low on the horizon. Thanks, Rick
Ronin
Never had a problem with my current chronograph, it work in dull, overcast, sun, rain, but not the dark. I had a CED once that was sxxt, I changed it to an Oehler, never looked back.
snap_shot
i find a dull day works best on the beta chrony, and never had to use the difusing panels, somehow a very bright day plays havoc with the sensors, picks up 10 shot string on a dull day without problem..... alpha is a little tricker, and likes it a little overcast but not to dull either, trial and error is all that is for it, but i'd recommend starting on the dull days first... snap.
