I then just put the receiver down on the side an time how long it takes them to get bored and hang up. I used to leave the phone off the hook and put the radio on, usually when you went back within 5 minutes, they were gone. The best one was some poor irish girl who phoned as I was puting dinner out. I told her to hold......25mins later I went back to the phone.......hell, she was still there. She asked me if I wanted life insurance, I duly declined and put the phone down.
