sapper732
Hi, I have a customised Remington 700 SA 308 with a 30" Bartlein barrel and last winter I fitted a Calvin Elite trigger and started to get light strikes, I spoke with a gunsmith and he suggested changing the trigger to a Bix or put in a stronger spring. I put in a stronger spring and this made it difficult to open and close the bolt. I then decided last week to buy the Bix and Andy Tacksport and I now find I have a shiny straight wear mark on the underside of the bolt where its catching the top sear, does anyone have any ideas please. Cheers
Re-Pete
In the past I got round this problem on a Tikka M595 and a Swing by putting a shim between the top of the trigger housing and the receiver to effectively drop the top sear a tad. Takes a bit of trial and error, though, and will only work if the trigger is bolted to the receiver. Pete
sapper732
Hi Pete, many thanks for that bit of info, I've a shooting buddy who is a dab hand at making stuff out of metal, I'll give it a go. Many thanks.
Ronin
I may be mistaken but I believe there are different sized Sears available for this trigger to alleviate this type of problem that alter the surface height of the interface with the cocking piece Perhaps speak to the UK importer for advice before potentially ruining the trigger unit
