6mm Rem loads?

I've acquired cheaply a custom-built 6mm Rem for my nephew. I've no experience with any of the 6mms (only .260 up) and would value some suggestions &/or comments about possible deer loads. Was thinking about 90-100gr projectiles as these are for reds.

Hi Chris,

Although IMO better then the 243, the 6mm Rem is pretty scarce in this country so i would say that its use would be pretty thin on the ground.

One thing i will tell you that may be of help is that anything that works in a 243 will work equally as well in the 6mm Rem.

Thanks Ian. Had a quick look on a few sites incl ADI. They list 36 of 2208 (=Varget) giving 2935 with a 100 grainer in a 24" bbl. This should tip over a red, long as the projectile design is OK.

 

Of the 6mm projs fit for deer, what are people's favourites??
