banus02
i have a cz 527 223 varmint and have heavy pitting in the barrel and the accuracy has gone i wondered if any gun smith smith has a decent take off barrel and what would be the cost ,dont want /cant afford a new barrel but thought i would ask the question. just to note the rifle was cleaned after every use and if wet dryed before being cleaned.less than 1000 rounds was it a bad barrel or just bad luck.i have had all my other rifles checked/bore scoped and they are all ok. banus02
good afternoon drum, the pitting is 3" into the chamber and spreads all through the barrel with an almost complete ring at 19" and it its a 24"barrel
drum
The reason why I asked was my CZ 527 rusted internally and I never did figure out how it happened.Luckily it was worse towards the muzzle .The less serious pitting was smoothed up with some bore paste and elbow grease.Ended up with an 18 inch barrel which shot surprisingly well until I saved up for a new walther barrel. Its a real bummer when this happens and you dont know why.I was concerned my other rifles were perhaps at risk too.
