Up here with Grampian police a variation is back the same week it was posted and all my rifles were cleared for vermin and ground game without any hassle at all. I got rid of the 270, but when i did have it she was cleared for rabbits(vermin) and the FLO was cool with that. He did comment that it isnt right to shoot rabbits with a centre fire but he also said that was only his opinion and if i wanted to then that was fine. Elwood Posted June 25, 2008 Report Share Posted June 25, 2008 The danger in having all large calibre rifles cleared for vermin as well as fox/deer is that eventually the authorities could turn round and say that you may only have one calibre for sporting use so make your choice and part with the rest.It might not seem such a good idea when it's turned against you.
