white van man
Hi guys, I've got a nice Ruger action (.308 at the mo) Thinking of a rebuild, maybe 7mm-08.Pros & cons please. Cheers Steve.
Apex
Pro's - a tad flatter trajectory and less felt recoil Cons - not as easy to get ammo or brass, but easier than a lot of uncommon calibres

baldie
7-08 is a great cartridge. Its a very accurate long range round and has perceptibly less recoil than the .308. Its just a simple barrel change, the mags etc all work just the same.
gbal
As Dave-relative recoil : 308 1.95 and 7-08 1.80 (cf 260rem 1.73 and 243rem 1.25). It's also a very good (red) deer stalking round.Ditto silhouette shooting,a tad OTT for precision tactical and there ,better cartridges for 1000y,especially competitively. What uses did you have in mind? gbal
