247sniper
Hi guys,Had half an hour to spare today so i thought i would make myself an invisible thread protector for my .22 rimmy, the ones you get from the factory look just :turd: .What I found here was that the factory barrel finish at the shoulder after the thread relief was not quite finished good enough, so it protrudes slightly resulting in the contact surface between the barrel and the cap i have made not being 100% precise. Basically you can just see the line where the cap meets the barrel. To rectify this I would have to machine the barrel so that it is square, but to be honest since i am going to Duracoat this rifle this will hide the factory error anyway.I made this out of stainless steel, ok the two colours dont go....but like I said, I will be Duracoating this rifle shortly. Hope you found this of interest guys/ Steve http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i374/247sniper/22threadcap2_zps6f4933fd.jpg http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i374/247sniper/22threadcap_zps7963664f.jpg
