Novice1
Ok folks, I'd appreciate some advice. I've a new stock coming for my m595 and was planning on changing the stock bolts to allen key heads when I put the new one on. Some Friday afternoon Web surfing suggests that the tikka screws are m6 30mm front and 40mm rear. Can anyone tell me that's correct and will it be as simple as bobbing into screwfix to buy the relevant sizes? I'll probably cold blue the screw heads in am effort to lessen the bodge job look of things... Cheers

MJR
They are M6. I machined some cup washers to accept a cap screw head that fits within the bottom metal recess. Te rear bolt length can be measured as you can see the end of the screw in the groove to the rear of the trigger group. The front one is a little more tricky as its a blind hole. Be aware that if the screw is too long it will impinge on the barrel tenon and give a false 'tight' feel when it's bottomed out and not actually holding the action tight - best to measure the depth with a vernier and deduct 1mm for clearance. Novice1
Cheers for the reply. My understanding was that the sizings I referred to in my op would fit without any further machining. I'll buy some and double check.
