Timney trigger in Remy 700, won't engage Safe mode if bolt closed ??

I've got a Timney trigger in a Remy 700, and when the bolt is forwards and down, the safety lever will not push into Safe mode (back).

 

If I put it in Safe mode before I close the bolt, it will go there happily, and it works as expected (will not fire), then I can push it forwards into Fire mode, and it fires (when the trigger is pulled).

 

Anybody come across this?

Yes P R ! Mine does this too ! Just locks in fire mode ! Think its a timney as well , wide serated trigger blade. God knows why ?

Yeah it's annoying isn't it. I've emailed Timney technical department and I'll let you know what they say.

 

Also, just discovered that if I press it pretty hard, it will go back. It doesn't feel like it's going to break, but it is definitely very stiff.
