londonhunter Posted March 29, 2008 Report Share Posted March 29, 2008 Hi had a chance to try the GSG-5 at Melville this morning Tried 05 brands of ammo Lapua Eley RWS CCI mini mag CCI stingers ALL CCI ammo cycled without problem Lapua came second What I found was that the magazine being curved does not like any pressure on it while firing If there is any hint of forward pressure then it will jam Also found that most of the parts are plastic !!!!!!!!!!!! do not clear with carbon tetrachloride related compound it will eat your rifle away with time OK 25 yards 1 - 1.25 inches no problems with mini mags 50 yards 3 - 4.5 inches with mini mags so far thats all I can update in one morning Total rounds cycled since new 660 and jammed 16 times in total londonhunter compared to Ruger 10/22 25 yards 1 inch consistantly 50 yards 2 - 2.5 inches consistantly Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
