Chris-NZ
Hoping against hope on this one but here goes.. A mate of my brother-in-law has a .22/243. Apparently it's a BAR with a 23" 1-in-8 barrel. He uses it for mainly deer and never over 300yds. Maybe not surprisingly, he's had variable results with Berger ?65 grainers- they either blow up or pencil straight through. He'd like to shoot some 70gr GMXs in it which might be better performers on deer. Do any of you guys have experience with loading this chambering (or a close rellie) with heavier projs? thanks in advance ChrisNZ
matchking
I load a 22.250 with 75gr A max. It is very good bullet out to 600 yards. I know a lad in south Africa using the same for culling plains game he swears buy it, The 75gr Amax pass through impala and blesbok but flatten them in the process. Chris-NZ
I guess he uses the Saffer powders Sean? I have a tin of (~Varget speed) S335 Somchem but it would be too fast for the chambering we're talking about
Davy
Wife shoots a 22-6,5x47 with 80 grain SMK's so a relative but not that close. She uses a full case of H4831SC with Moly coated bullets
