Deeredriver
I've seen one for sale. Is it too short to get the most out of it? The barrel is too short to get the full magnum performance from it. That said it depends what you want it for. The 300WSM is an easy cartridge to load for. Mine shoots a variety of powders well from H380 up to reloader 22.
gbal
Tests done on controlled barrel shortening by major manufacturers agree reasonably closely:for rifles in the 3000+ MV range, its about 30 fps per inch removed in the normal barrel lengths (slight variations of course with powder/bullet,and about 25 fps just below 3000 fps.) So a 24" to 20" 300WSM 150 nosler might have dropped from 3280 to around 3140 approx. It will have considerably more noise and muzzle blast.
