Choosing powder

ive looked at the german conversion to AI. very pricy and without the mags as well, i brought a secondhand t3 mag and have cut it and now just have to seal the back part, not sure it will work though, as read on another site that no one has had sucsess doing this.........

It certainly is.

And puts the requirements (for good performance at 1000y) into perspective:

90 grain BC .5 at 3270 fps

I don't think that is easily achievable... (75g are BC .39)..22 inch barrel won't help,but.....

Fine: 600y is not a problem,quite satisfying with a 223.

But there was talk of 800y and 1000y just yesterday.

1000y is not impossible,but very unlikely,with the equipment quoted.

thanks for that davy, its well out of my league.

so how much for you to do the job, no pressure on taking the mag apart its already in bits :) and its a spare i brought anyway.

its for my .223 and would like the mag to be able to accept, my longest load, the lands are ,2.487-90......so i would like the option to be 20-10thou from the lands.....
