Chris-NZ
Here's an example of a NZ deer rifle, well one version anyway. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=603969412 Built just round the corner from home by the NZ Hunter lads. Dunno if I'd like to hump it up the hills here but you have a decent chance of tipping them over past 600yds on a windy day and definitely 1000yds on a calm day. Ammo isn't very cheap though- the projectiles are about two quid each. Chris-NZ

Chris-NZ
The high-volume brake makes them very shootable though you do need some top level ear protection. Without a brake, they are plain vicious as you might guess looking at the size of the round. Uses ~145grs of powder behind the 400gr CE proj
sonic
That'd give the firearms dept a heart attack if you asked for that for deer. Mind you I'd love to see the look on their faces. I'd love to have a play with that just to say I had.
