JC275
Hi, What would people recomend in terms of twist rate and barrel length for a 7mm-08? I would imagine that it would primarily be used with 120grn V-max or similar but with the option to go up to the heavy end of the range. General deer work but with the possible requirement to shoot copper bullets. Thanks, JC
Ratwhiskers
1 in 10's fine up to 150grn's after that I'd be looking for 1 in 9 or better. As for barrel length, 22" minimum. I'm getting up to 3140f/ps with 120 v-max's in a 24 1/2" pipe
kent
Look to 140 grn SGK and the like ( I have a few for sale actually LOL) heavier is too heavy lighter is too light in my experience using one to kill quite a few deer. it does rather well in a short tube I found very similar to .308 win in that regards
Ronin
9 twist works just fine in most 7mm-08 applications

baldie
This is a 400 yard group shot with a remmy/Bartlien 1 in 9" twist at 28" long. Bullet was the A-max 162 (I think ] Just over an inch. Its pretty forgiving on twist , the 7mm-
