sako
I had a 17 rem fire ball was good for 150y foxing, but just fancy that bit more poke! Now using .223 with 40g Blitz kings The full 17 remington looks good Whats your thoughts for using as foxing calibre ?
garyw
IT will give you a bit more horse power than the .17fb but it wont give you the same results as your .223.i have had one for a few years and have managed to eek out its potential and use it with nv [add on]i also have a .17fb if i had to choose between them then the .17rem would get the nod. 17 Rem
Bullet choice is critical (forget the Hornady 25 grain HP, which behaves like an FMJ), but it's a rewarding fox calibre, in the right hands.

I have been using my custom 17 rem for about 5 years now, mostly on sub 200 yard foxes and hares. I load 25 gr v-max at 4100 fps I found the 20gr a bit to light in breezy conditions. Get a 17 rem and you will have a permanent smile on your face!
