dirtydawk
Hi guys I have been messing around with a ballistics programme and one of the parameters it asks for is scope height. Could one of my more learned shooting brethren please assist me as to where this measurement is to be taken from on my rifle. Many thanks Ian

Davy
It is the distance from the centre line of the action to the centre line of the 'scope, the most accurate measurement is gained by removing the action/barrel from the stock, measure the diameter of the action, measure the action of the 'scope tube then take the outer measurement between the action and 'scope. Now deduct half the diameter of the action plus half the diameter of the 'scope from the outer measurement and that is your 'scope height. Hope that makes sense! Swamp Donkey
I measure the width of the objective bell, barrel, and gap between, half the lens and barrel measurement and add the gap. So a 60mm obj + 20mm barrel = 80mm. Gap of 8mm. 80\2= 40+8=48mm then convert to inches if req. Hth Pete
