Guest 308Panther
Grant, Ya got nothin to be envious of... That pic of the deer by the LP tank is up at my folks place. I am a Country Boy as well...but currently livin in a concrete jungle, too Its a 3 1/2 hr drive if I am hittin 80 mph(256 mi door-door) Their closest neighbor is slightly over 1/4 mile away. Mine on the other hand is a matter of inches away.... and there are days the wall between our apts just isnt thick enough. I am not sure if your familiar with the "Jerry Springer Show " These would be lifetime contestants. This couple is living proof the gene pool needs more bleach. If they are the products of the fastest swimmer I would really hate to see what the results were if it was the slowest swimmer. They surely are proof that Darwins Theory could be possible as they certainly have evolved from reptiles. This set of pics is what my back yard looks like... Right behind the trees is a berm and on the other side of that is a set of double railroad tracks, the road crossing is 1/2 block away. 1 mile further away from these tracks is an International Airport These deer are ...Dont Touch Deer. I live in Milwaukee County, and that doesnt allow hunting....Of any type. Even shooting my bow or an air rifle( pellet gun ) could get me a Discharging within City Limits ticket plus confiscation of the weapon. Milwaukee may be Biker friendly....but they sure arent Hunter friendly. 308Panther
Streeker59
Superb pics Panther. The most my back yard can rummage up is the odd hedgehog and a rat or two. Ah well, shouldn't grumble.. some folk dont even have a back yard and at least the farms i shoot are no more than 5 miles away, the furthest is 10 ! All they cost me is a couple of bottles of Single malt at xmas. I know some folk pay through the nose to syndicates for far less.. Count my blessings
Guest 308Panther
Grant, One farm I hunt down here,Costs me a Goose Breast...if I drop more than one. All the Squirrel,Coyote,Coon,Deer(if wanted,in season) and Goose I can legally shoot. Its in the lower part of the state, and is considered a CWD Eradication Zone.Only reason I dont hunt it is because that part of the State is Shotgun Only(deer). But a Black powder Rifle is legal to use there....Just havent bought one yet. There is no weapon restriction on Coyote but the farmer that owns it doesnt want me using my .308's or a centerfire rifle so those are out. My .17HMR gets used there alot. Its a 45 minute drive to there The farm I Turkey hunt up by my folks belongs to a High School buddy of my father. Turkey are a bit of a nuisance to the farmers up there. And there are more Turkey then Deer. I usually hunt my Uncles hobby farm(9 miles from the folks) for Deer,or my Folks place... The .17HMR comes along here too...lotta Squirrel.Or used to be.Used to be alot of deer there too, this year was one of the worst I have seen. For pheasant/Woodcock I usually run the public lands..... Ruffed Grouse,I will take a run up to my Aunts place on the NE corner (another 4 hr run) They border the Nicolet National Forest wich is public land...but the bird action is pretty good. When the 10yr cycle is high. I havent been able to get out as much this year as in years past as work hours interfered. Angel is an amature freelance photographer,Won a bunch of awards for her pics.We have been invited to shows and displays all over the country...Las Vegas,Washington D.C. to name a couple. Some of her pics have been used in poetry books and things like that. She makes them smile and look all pretty.....I pull the trigger and put them on the table. Sometimes she comes out huntin with me. Martin, Sounds like it... But your gonna be outta of a job if that deer can weld better or change a fuel pump faster than you can... And if it can do an intake gasket on a pushrod Ford motor Send it my way....I gotta job for it. 308Panther
