londonhunter
Hi any sako quad owner manage to replace the standard bottom plate with an aluminiuml one ? If so has it made any difference to accuracy at all?
liongeorge
I replaced mine with one from an ammerican company along with thier picatinny rail . (I can't remember off the top of my head what their name is but if you want it I can find out) Unfortunately I cn not tell you whether it improved the accuracy as i did it almost as soon as I got the rifle, needless to say it is very accurate now. Are you having problems with accuracy? they are normally pretty good out of the box. Both the bottom plate and rail are very well made and are a really nice addition to the rifle. George PS . It was not cheap once import duty etc was paid!

Steve I've looked at them in the past and would buy one but...... they won't ship to the UK. Merde. http://www.diproductsinc.com/default.aspx?PAGE=Main%20Page This lot are good for firing pin springs, screws etc for a lot of shotguns and rifles, they even do the flat springs for my old Miroku 800, but they don't do the bottom metalwork for Finnfires etc... shame https://www.jnpgunsprings.com/index.php atb Fizz

DL.
It seems nobody has any practical experience with the bottom plate I have ordered a set and will report back if it is beneficial I fitted the aluminium trigger guard to my Finnfire, and haven't noticed any difference in group sizes. As they say across the water, your mileage may vary.

DL.
Having said this, I am using Eley Subsonics, which I think need a blast over a chrono, as I am not 100% confident in the batch. So I'm sure, like I say, another test by someone else could produce different results.
