I'm in need of some dimensional info re. Remington 700 short actions:

 

Nominal OD of the action.

Distance between centres of the action 'bedding' screws (for want of a better term )

The action bedding screw thread form

Hi Terry,

 

Nominal OD is between 1.35" and 1.36" (they do vary)

Centre distance between screws - 6.49" - 6.50". Taken from a variety of actions in the workshop

Thread is 1/4"x28 TPI, I can't tell you if it's a 55 or 60 degree thread form at the moment as I can't find my eyeglass!

Alan surely it would be 60 degrees would it not, as in UNF (ANF)?

You are spot on. It is a 60 degree form as are all unified and metric thread forms. BSW and BSF are 55 degree.
