What .223?

Hi all, after a bit of advise!

Getting a .223, and due to my job I prefer Military/Tactical style Firearms.

At the moment i'm looking at either a Southern Gun AR, or the Steyr AUG SP.

They both have their positives and negatives (trigger pull, weight etc).

I'm mainly going to be using it for Muntjac/Fox and general range work.

Or is there someting else out there that I should consider or would it be best to go for a custom.(MUST be .223 & Max spend £1200)

Cheers all!

Im with Ronny tikka tactical..better than any of the AR variants..what kind of job do you do where you need to have Military/Tactical style Firearm ??

Mick

I work with these types of firearms day in and day out, so its only a personal choice really (stick with what you know best and all that!) :)

Thats not to say I'm not open to other options or suggestions, hence the original question: is there anything else out there?

For a stalking/field use rifle I would always recommend a bolt gun. Mainly because if a member of the public see's a chap with a "black" rifle skulking round the countryside all hell could break loose and mass panic ensue with reports of terrorists out training ^_^

However from a foxing from vehicle perspective the AR platform would be nice and compact and kept out of public view.

He tikka's are great rifles and will do all you need for a great price.
