Works for no apparent reason....and unlike DEET isn't carcinogenic and doesn't melt some plastics. + 1 on the avon skin so soft works for no reason. I even found that it works very well with the african bugs especially the Tetse fly when I was in Kenya. It was even better than deet at keeping the bugs away. Being a Ginger, not only the sun hates me but pretty much every bug in the world. Sking so soft appears to rely on the oils to trap the bugs above the surface of the skin.
