maltbuck
A question for the riflesmiths please. Currently have a 6mmBR Heavy Varmint profiled barrel sat in a Tooley MBR stock, and Borden action. How simple/easy/possible is it to swap between another Heavy varmint profiled barrel, eg a 6.5x47? This will allow me a more economical option and easier to put past Firearms Dept. ATB MB. baldie
Dead easy if the borden has a pinned lug, which i think they have. All you need is another barrel of the same dimensions [if the barrel is bedded forward of the lug,] then you need a barrel vice and wrench and away you go. It will certainly save me some ££'s when looking for a higher BC option for the wind errors at 600!
Vermincinerator
You will also need to punch two witness marks, one on the barrel and the other on the reciever/recoil lug so that when you change barrels they can be aligned so as not to effect headspace.
