Ronin
Real stab in the dark here. I have a friend who's just got a .224 Weatherby Mk V Varmintmaster. Rifle is 20+ yrs old and made for Weatherby by Sauer Lovely exterior condition, but.... The trigger unit - double set unit in an alloy block, has a crack remdering the weapon useless. Does anyone know of anywhere a replacement or secondhand unit can be obtained - here or the US?

baldie
Have a word with Zigliss on here Andy. I rebarrelled him a mk v a while ago, and fitted an aftermarket unit to it. For the life of me i cant remember who made it, i think it was a jard, but it definatly came from brownells.
Ronin
Terry, thanks, I hadn't even considered Timney may make a replacement. Dave, also thanks, I see Midway list them (Jard and Timney) i'll put my mate onto that. The trigger usint has a steel sideplate , but the body looks like some kind of compressed ally or early alloy, there are stress fractures running along the entire length of the body of the unit - looks like woodgrain.. A pity really as the rest of the rifle is pretty well finished.
Stonewall
Every one likes Sauer Weatherbys . I always wonder why. Check the bedding and some have bad wood that Sauer changed for the Weatherby supplied wood. I have the original Weatherby cast trigger housing parts if you really want them for nothing - it's Christmas. But they will just fall apart again . But I would install a Timney first. Ronin
Hi Glenn thankyou for the kind offer. I have advised the owner to try the Timney unit - the original trigger has double set release. I guess the Timney is a single trigger at the price offered. Hopefully the rifle wil be shooting safely again soon, its a pity the cast housing is such a piece of cxxp, it spoils an otherwise ok rifle. The woodwork by the way is in good condition.
