Sporting Rifle 'mile' article

Anyone read the mile shot in sporting rifle, for the lads to say that they were hitting something within 5 shots at a mile, is it really that easy???

 

If so i should give up and go home as it taken me ages to be what I consider a above average (but not great) shot at distances I consider far but nothing like a mile, mid you I only shoot a .243.

 

For what its worth I thought it was one of the better articles, I'm just curious to see if there was a bit of artistic licence shall we say.

Short answer: No

 

Depends on loads of things - not least weather conditions (especially wind!) and in particular at that distance, consistent ammo (very low ES).
